Are affiliate links ok or are they against the TOS, it should be classed as solicitation correct ? I never really noticed it untill today, i click on several posts and they all contained links to amazon with an affiliate code in the URL, it looks like "&tag=xxx". It is against the TOS right ??
Yea, the 4 pages i ran across from this poster all had links in them to amazon. And also in the same post were the same 2 users with the exact same affiliate code in the link. coincidence ??

  1. Not ok.

By clicking on the link, the Yahoo user is generating revenue for the link-poster. It is solicitation.

  2. That is a tough one and context would make a difference. If the link goes to a specific item that was the subject of the question, I would let it go. That is unless all the users answers were that way. If it just goes to the affiliate page or the store front, that is definitely a violation.
